Hi there! I’m Dr. Shannon Davis, a physical therapist, mom of two, and the inventor behind InspiraSpark.
The idea for the Little Balance Box® came to life when my daughter was learning how to walk. As both a parent and therapist, I realized there wasn’t a safe, natural way for children to transition from sitting to standing to walking. That inspired me to design a developmental tool that truly supports a child’s growth—without limiting movement or confidence.
At InspiraSpark, we believe that play is powerful. Every product—from the Little Balance Box® to Hativity®—is thoughtfully created to help children move, explore, and develop naturally while giving parents peace of mind.

It all began when Shannon, a San Diego mom and physical therapist, wanted to help her own daughter learn to walk safely and naturally.
Combining her clinical expertise with her love for child development, she designed the Little Balance Box®—a safer, more intuitive alternative to traditional walkers. What started as a simple idea in her living room has grown into InspiraSpark, a brand trusted by parents and therapists alike for supporting natural movement and sensory development.
Years later, and with thousands of families inspired, we remain dedicated to creating thoughtful, PT-designed products like the Little Balance Box® and Hativity® that empower children to move, play, and grow with confidence.
It All Started With a Little Determination
Back in 2013, Shannon—a San Diego mom and physical therapist—was watching her daughter learn how to walk. As both a parent and clinician, she saw the struggle firsthand: traditional baby walkers were unsafe, and push toys didn’t truly support natural movement or balance.
Instead of settling for what existed, she decided to create her own solution—a safer, smarter tool that would let children transition from sitting to standing to walking at their own pace.
That’s how the Little Balance Box® was born — the first PT-designed developmental tool to encourage independent movement, confidence, and natural growth.
Today, InspiraSpark continues that mission with innovative products like Hativity®, empowering children everywhere to move, play, and grow safely.
